Hi, I'm Vanessa, the Australian behind The Huntress, now calling Finland home.
I work with people, clothes and ideas. Sometimes that means hunting down the perfect pair of trousers. Sometimes it means rebuilding an entire wardrobe. And sometimes it means putting someone in an extraordinary outfit and creating a story around them.
I love all three.
My work spans personal styling, editorial fashion and commercial creative direction. What connects them is my fascination with how clothes can change the way we see ourselves, tell a story or completely transform an ordinary moment.

I believe a wardrobe should reflect the person wearing it, not somebody else's idea of who they ought to be.
My approach combines an understanding of colour, proportion and silhouette with a willingness to experiment. I'll tell you when something is fabulous. I'll also tell you when it isn't.
Whether we're working with the clothes you already own, hunting down something extraordinary or rebuilding your wardrobe from scratch, my job is to do the heavy lifting while making the process enjoyable.

THE CREATIVE SIDE
Beyond personal styling, I develop fashion concepts and visual stories for editorial and commercial projects.
I'm drawn to contrast, character and the unexpected. Beautiful clothes in ordinary places. Familiar situations with something slightly ridiculous happening. Masculine and feminine codes turned on their heads.
For me, the most interesting fashion imagery does more than show an outfit. It makes you look twice.
I collaborate with photographers, models, brands and other creatives to bring these ideas to life, from the initial concept through wardrobe development and the final image.
A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME
Originally from Australia, I've lived in several countries before making Finland home. Those experiences have influenced how I see fashion, individuality and the different ways people express themselves through clothing.
I'm curious by nature, love discovering unexpected pieces and have a particular weakness for clothes with character.
And yes, I'm learning Finnish.
